Donna S. Madden

Before joining Sullivan Estate Law, Donna worked for the Supreme Court of Rhode Island as the supervisory member of the Law Clerk Pool providing legal research and courtroom assistance for the Superior, Family, and District Courts.

Donna focuses her practice in the areas of elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning and administration, guardianship, and real estate. She has extensive experience in the Medicaid application process, and offers her clients sophisticated strategies to help them become eligible for Medicaid. Donna heads the firm’s Elder Law and Asset Protection practice.

Donna grew up in Warwick, then moved to South Kingstown with her husband, Jeffrey, where she raised her four children. Donna and Jeff were involved in all of their childrens’ athletic and musical endeavors. They are the proud parents of an Eagle Scout who went on to attend the US Naval Academy and serve in the US Marines. Donna enjoys travel, particularly to Italy and Ireland. She took a break from practicing law and lived in Rome while her husband attended architectural school. One of her children works in Ireland, which gives her more reason to travel there. Donna is a lifelong learner, and has taken enough Italian classes to learn how to order wine—proficiently. Later in life she took up tennis and is killing it on the tennis court with her doubles partner.
